The carefully planted trees and plants in this arboretum are in some cases a century old now. Some of the gum trees, the Eucalyptus, are 20 feet in circumference and 100 feet tall. The historic buildings, too, will dazzle every visitor because of their incredible locations within this huge property. save at least 3 hours to fully hike through and enjoy this place. It's so dynamic. If you can visit at just the right time in February or March, you'll see the cactus and native wildflowers at their best. Call ahead to find out that perfect week for the top color display.

Beautiful State Park and a great place to hike. Lots of varieties of cactus, succulents and wildflowers to witness. I saw a couple of gila lizards and countless butterflies. The park also has a lake but not sure if swimming is allowed. No access to Picket Post House though.

Another 6-Star venue disguised as a 5-Star State Park. Boyce Thompson is one of the most unique places you take your dearest friends, your most loved relatives, or your mate on their birthday. You'll want to give them a gift that will last a lifetime, a visit to an incredible place where their senses can roam and be delighted.

I think this is a must-visit place for those visiting the Phoenix metro area. The place is amazing, and the walk is beautiful. The history of the place alone makes a great story. I go with my family at least once per year, and more if we have visitors. And my children love it.

Beautiful arboretum, mostly shaded, inexpensive, and not too far from town. I went a lot as a child but enjoyed going alone as I got older. There are lots of benches to sit and just enjoy the moment. I've seen lots of animals and well as interesting plant life.

Every inch of the park is beautiful especially when plants are in bloom. I've been there many times and enjoy it each time. Definitely check it out.
